Legend of Althea Vol. 1 - A Captivating Sci-Fi Teen Comic Book Series
Presenting the uniquely dope world of Legend of Althea, a sci-fi teen series that aims to get you hyped and lost all up in your feels simultaneously. Based in an altered Los Angeles, California, Legend of Althea follows Althea Thompson, a seventeen-year-old African-American girl with vitiligo and cardiomyopathy. Due to the latter, Althea suffers a sudden heart failure and receives a state-of-the-art artificial heart replacement that has recently been made available to select patients. Althea's new heart not only heals her but miraculously gives her the ability to heal others, but at a cost to herself, as the pain she heals is transferred back to her.
After a video of Althea using her powers goes viral, her dad, Darrel, forbids her from using them again. However, when she discovers her father has been hiding a terminal lung illness that has plagued him for a while, Althea must learn to strengthen her powers to save him before his time runs out. Meanwhile, a notorious street gang known as the "Wolf Pack" discovers Althea’s abilities and plots to kidnap her for their own nefarious agenda.
